Vail Resorts to offer refunds for Epic Australia Pass and New Pass Options
With the start of the 2020 southern hemisphere snow season stalled because of the Coronavirus crisis, Vail Resorts Australia is reported to have contacted Epic Australia Pass Holders over the past week with updated information on refunds and dates for final payments for its 2020 Pass.
Vail Resorts is the owner of three of Australia's largest ski fields - Falls Creek Alpine Resort and Hotham Alpine Resort in Victoria and Perisher in NSW.
A communication from Pete Brulisauer, Vail’s Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, said he wanted to share the update on “plans following the guidance provided by the National Cabinet’s three-step plan to a COVIDsafe Australia”.
Brulisauer’s main points were:
• Vail will not take the final payment for client’s 2020 Epic Australia Pass on 1st June.
• By 15th June, the company will share more information about the season ahead as well as new pass options that will address the expected COVID-19 impacts on the snow season.
• Vail will then passholders the option to request a refund of all payments made towards their 2020 Epic Australia Pass and Pass Refund Protection or move forward with a new pass product. For those who decide to purchase a pass, the final payment date will also be announced on 15th June, after people will have had the opportunity to consider their options.
With Victoria’s ski resorts to open as of 22nd June, Vail Resorts is expected to offer new pass options as the season goes ahead.
