Falls Creek announce first weekend with full ski fields access
Victorian alpine resort Falls Creek has announced that it is prepared for the first weekend of the 2019 snow season with 100% terrain open across the ski fields.
The opening of the final black runs in the popular 'Maze' ski area means that Falls Creek has hit capacity for ski and snowboard terrain across green, blue and black runs.
With a further 8cm falling over recent days, the resort’s natural snow depth is at 71cm while snowmaking areas are recording well over 1 metre of snow
With Falls Creek the first resort in Victoria to hit this milestone for season 2019, other resorts have enjoyed cold snowy weather over the past week.
Last week, Hotham Alpine Resort tweeted “54cm of snow this week at Hotham ... winter 2019 is kicking into gear!”
As of last Saturday, NSW resort Thredbo "Storm total now at 62cm and counting."
Minus degree temperatures and potential snow conditions are expected to continue for the next week.
