Upper Hutt aquatic centre maintains PoolSafe accreditation for 16th year
Committed to providing a high standard of safety, Upper Hutt’s H2O Xtream aquatic centre has maintained its PoolSafe status, with the accreditation recognising that the facility’s systems and procedures meet industry standards.
In maintaining its accreditation, all areas of the Council-run facility were tested, including lifeguard qualifications, supervision of all areas of water, emergency action plans, child supervision, risk management, health and safety management processes, and water testing.
Welcoming the PoolSafe recognition, Kristin Raynes, H2O Xtream’s Assistant Manager of Operations advised “this is the 16th year that our team has been awarded the PoolSafe accreditation.
"It’s indicative of our high standards and the hard work our staff put in to providing a safe aquatic facility for our community."
The PoolSafe Quality Management Scheme (PoolSafe) is an independent assessment of public pools to ensure that their operations and facilities are safe. PoolSafe is an industry-led voluntary management system that enables peer to peer assessment and moderates the delivery of public aquatic facilities’ services, with the direct intent to provide a safe aquatic experience for their communities.
