H2O Xtream to resume 'normal' hours ahead of schedule
Upper Hutt’s H2O Xtream aquatic centre is to resume full operating hours earlier than scheduled due to the progress of work completed in replacing a section of the roof.
Mild weather has enabled the roofing team to work ahead of the programme, so from Thursday 3rd November H2O Xtream will reopen to full weekday hours.
Monday - Thursday: 5.30 am - 9.00 pm
Friday: 5.30 am - 10.00 pm
Saturday: 8.00 am - 7.00 pm
Sunday: 8.00 am - 6.30 pm, 7.00 - 9.00 pm (women only)
The 5.30 am weekday opening trial will continue until the end of January. This will provide robust attendance figures so the centre can assess the take-up and value of the earlier hours.
Commenting on the trial opening hours Kristin Raynes, H2O Xtream Assistant Manager – Operations stated "we understand that life is generally chaotic, and people have told us that they don’t have time before work to get in the water, so we are trialing the earlier opening time to see if it helps
"Feedback so far has been really positive."
Upper Hutt Upper Hutt City Council Recreation Services Manager Rachel Jury added “we are so pleased with the timing of this entire job, the team has done so well, and it means that H2O Xtream, and our wider family-our customers-can all go back to our normal schedules.
"We’d like to say a massive ‘thank you!’ to our regular customers who were disrupted by the maintenance for their patience, and we look forward to seeing you back at H2O Xtream."
