Ungerboeck congratulates 2016 Richard Geddes award recipients

Ungerboeck Software International has extended its congratulations to the dual winners of the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA)’s 2016 Richard Geddes Young Achiever Award: Anne-Marie Mina of Exhibitions and Trade Fairs and James Kennedy of Exhibit Systems.

Each year, the Richard Geddes Young Achiever Award recognises the top young talent at the Association’s prestigious Awards for Excellence ceremony.

Commenting on the 2016 Awards, Ungerboeck Software International, Asia Pacific, Managing Director Fred Lazzerini stated “the accolade never fails to highlight the exceptionally high calibre of nominees; many of whom are already leaders in their respective fields.”

“Anne-Marie, James and the other nominees, are shining examples of why we choose to support the Richard Geddes Young Achiever Award. The award spotlights the outstanding pool of young talent that we have in our region.

“We will be excited to follow the careers of these emerging leaders and see how the industry evolves under their influence.”

Anne-Marie Mina, Exhibition and Trade Fairs Event Executive, thanked EEAA and Ungerboeck for the award, commenting “it was an absolute honour to be a winner of the Richard Geddes Young Achiever Award and has been a huge achievement and highlight of my professional career thus far.

“Given the young talent within the industry it would have been a difficult decision for the judges indeed. I strive to create the best events possible for the various industries I work across but to be recognised by the industry I am passionate about is very special.”

James Kennedy, Designer at Exhibit Systems, also welcomed his Award, saying “I feel lucky to be working within the events industry and I am passionate about finding ways to promote sustainability and reduce our environmental impact. I am also honoured to have my efforts recognised in this way

EEAA Chief Executive, Joyce DiMascio, said the Richard Geddes Young Achiever Award recognises those bright, young team members who shine in their work, attitude, leadership and commitment, both to their company and industry.

DiMascio added “Anne-Marie performed outstandingly in the personal interview with judges commenting on her intellect, strategic thinking and the freshness of her insights. She is an outstanding ambassador for our industry and demonstrates a capacity to look at the big picture for the expo industry and the pressures and challenges we face. She is an inspirational young leader most deserving of this award.

“James Kennedy is only 22 and already his leadership qualities stand-out. The judges commended his work finding environmentally responsible solutions and minimising the use of “MDF”. James has the potential to be a leader and a champion for developing design and building solutions that are ecologically sound.

“Congratulations to Anne-Marie and James, as well as all our Members who took home an award this year.”

DiMascio said the award category attracted seven nominees this year and commended those companies who had put the spotlight on their outstanding young team members.
