Ungerboeck backs Australasia's exhibition industry through sponsorship and service

Ungerboeck Software International has renewed its commitment to the future of the exhibition industry by supporting the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia’s (EEAA) Richard Geddes Young Achiever Award for the sixth consecutive year.

The award category has been supported by Ungerboeck since its inception in 2012 and is just one of the local initiatives the technology company supports, aimed at investing in the future of the industry.

Presented at the end of November, the EEAA’s 25th annual Awards for Excellence honoured the industry’s highest achieving shows, venues, suppliers, teams and individuals.

Held at Melbourne Museum on Wednesday 29th November, the night was hosted by Colin Lane and had 17 Award categories, of which the Richard Geddes Young Achiever award was one.

Competition for this year’s award was extremely close and EEAA Chief Executive, Joyce DiMascio, commented on the quality of the nominees’ submissions.

DiMascio advised “judging has been tight and very competitive across a number of categories and the calibre of entries is a testament to the young talent we have in the exhibition and event sector in the region.”

Craig Mather, Onboarding Specialist for Ungerboeck, was the recipient of the 2017 Richard Geddes Award. The accolade recognises Mather’s work with several leading exhibition venues and suppliers, as well as his demonstrated leadership qualities mentoring colleagues within the organisation.

Cathy Hammond from Exhibitions and Trade Fairs, Nina Shand from Diversified Communications Australia and Kiarna Harvey from National Media were also finalists for the prestigious award. They were praised by DiMascio for the leadership qualities they have demonstrated across their respective organisations.

Fred Lazzerini, Managing Director of Ungerboeck, Asia-Pacific announced “we are always looking for opportunities to support the professional development of future industry leaders, and we are both proud and humbled that this year a member of our local team has been recognised in this way.

“The award is a testament to the level service that Craig delivers to our customers and I am extremely pleased that he has been nominated by his peers as one of the industry’s future leaders.

“Initiatives such as the Richard Geddes Award encourage the industry’s youngest members to strive for excellence in everything they do and this ensures continual development throughout the region – the key reason we take part.”
