Tweed Heads Genesis Fitness Club gets a makeover

Genesis Fitness in Tweed Heads has had a makeover to meet with increasing demand for its health programs.

The club underwent a complete fit-out and now boasts the latest in machines, classes and personal training.

Customer Manager David Hurley told the Byron Shire News "we've extended the size of the gym and renovated the workout areas and bathroom facilities."

Completed in January, members now have access to new Hammerstrength, Life Fitness and Technogym equipment along multi-function training, Les Mills classes, yoga and cycling.

The overhaul of the gym's services promises to help patrons achieve their own makeover dreams.

Hurley added "there are five qualified personal trainers on hand at the gym, a mix of both men and women.

"When a member joins up they not only get a gym induction, they also get a fully personalised program for their fitness goals, whether it be for body building, weight loss or general health."

Genesis Fitness memberships are flexible and range from casual visit passes to monthly and yearly plans.

Hurley concluded that the club's biggest strength was its quality customer service, stating "we are staffed six days per week and there is also a creche for children aged six weeks onwards."

Overseeing the professional modernisation of the gym during the past three months was new General Manager Sarah Mackay.

Mackay previously held a managerial role at a Brisbane gym.

In other Genesis Fitness news, the generally media shy chain appointed change management consultant Ian Jensen-Muir as its Chief Executive during 2012.

Jensen-Muir replaced acting Chief Executive, industry consultant and Fitness Australia board member David Allen who had filled the role on a temporary basis.
