TTF’s Outlook Conference set to explore engagement and experiences

Approaching its annual Outlook Conference this week, Tourism and Transport Forum Australia (TTF) is looking to shake up the national tourism debate with a focus on a range of topics that are important to the industry as it strives to remain agile and engage with the expectations of the market.

Each year TTF’s Outlook Conference drives the national tourism agenda with a focus on the innovations that are shaping the domestic and international visitor economies.

With a theme of ‘Engaging tomorrow’s traveller’, this year’s conference is being held on Thursday 1st June in the Pearl Ballroom at Crown Sydney.

Among a full day program, the topic of engagement in theatre and attractions will be considered looking at what audiences want from their theatre experience.

Among speakers, internationally acclaimed producer, Michael Cassel AM, who has brought many hit productions to Australia, from Hamilton to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will address the audience.

TTF recently conducted an interview with Cassel prior to his Outlook Tourism Conference appearance in which he emphasised the importance and uniqueness of the live experience.

The role of museums in the age of Netflix and how the Australian Museum keeping audiences engaged will also be addressed by Australian Museum Director and Chief Executive, Kim McKay who will detail how the museum survived the pandemic and the exciting exhibitions coming up this year.

Other sessions will include:

  • Rebound: cruising back to paradise

  • Something for everyone: airports as destinations

  • Time for change: how we can better embed our Indigenous culture in our tourism experiences

  • Flying high: the new more discerning air traveller and what is driving their travel choices

  • Changing of the guard: women leading the marketing charge

  • On exhibition: new ways of experiencing art
