TryBooking launches free ticket scanning App
Self-serve ticketing platform TryBooking has launched a free event management and scanning mobile app for event organisers.
The platform allows those running an event to easily scan tickets for entry, access real-time data about the event, review patron details and manage volunteers and staff.
Introducing the App, TryBooking Chief Executive Jeff McAlister stated “the TryBooking Scanning App will provide existing and new customers with the tools they need to better manage their events, without having to invest in expensive, complicated hardware systems.
“The app can be downloaded straight to a smartphone, meaning all event organisers from small community groups and schools to large-scale festivals can now access professional event technology. Our scanning technology enables event organisers to get people through the door faster without the need for confusing door lists, as well as minimising paper ticket waste.”
Following a successful beta testing program, TryBooking Scanning App is now available to more than 60,000 clients. The test runs involved customers including The Wheeler Centre and Byron Writers Festival, which attracted 12,000 attendees.
During testing, the app was used to manage four major weekend events across key venues including Elements of Byron. Organisers were able to admit 320 patrons into seats in just seven minutes and access real-time venue capacity to keep the event running to schedule.
Byron Writers Festival spokesperson Cherrie Sheldrick explained “everything worked seamlessly, there were no long queues and for the first time ever I didn’t print out confusing papers.
“From a logistics standpoint, I think this kind of tech is definitely the way to go. Using the TryBooking Scanning App made for a quicker process and it was easier to ensure tickets were scanned properly to ensure people were at the right event.
“A major benefit was the ability to ascertain at any point, how many people were stuck in queue traffic and not in their seats so we could determine when to start the show. The app also allowed us to manage volunteers better, have control over privacy and data, and deploy staff more efficiently.”
