Local Tickets aims to empower event organisers
An innovative ticket agency that focuses on regional attractions and events has been attracting a growing client base.
Created by co-directors Kristen Goldup and Jan Martin on Queensland’s Whitsundays, Local Tickets claims to be Australia’s only ticketing system that promotes the destination and upcoming events.
In a statement, the pair explain “we want to see regional events all throughout Australia grow and thrive.
“Events make life exciting for locals, showcase a region, attract visitors and boost the local economy.
“Our business model is to provide each community with its own ticketing system that is both a back-end ticketing system and a front end marketing channel.
“Our service is simple to use and cost effective no matter what size (an) event is.”
With 30 destination ticketing sites, Local Tickets is expanding across Australia backed by a media partnership with national radio company Grant Broadcasters. Click here to view Grant Broadcasters radio stations.
The business was also recognised by the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC), being presented with the Council’s the Runner-Up Innovation Award for 2015.
The QTIC Prize for Innovation in Tourism is now in its fourth year, with the Award cycle for 2016 currently in progress.
