Timaru goes live with Intelligenz' IntelliLeisure

Timaru District Council has chosen Intelligenz Solutions' IntelliLeisure software for the management of its five swimming pools, their first swim school programme and for their new Caroline Bay Aquatic Centre.

Set to open in July, the $23.5 million aquatic, fitness and recreation centre, known as CBay, is set to be one of New Zealand's major facilities.

Timaru District Council Recreational Facility Manager Gary Easthope explains "we have an outstanding new facility close to opening, and we wanted to be sure we had the trained staff able to handle the surge in patronage we will get with this vastly improved community asset.

"We also have had a rising expectation from the community to deliver swim school before the opening of CBay, and we have now recruited and launched the programme with great success.

"Late last year, after reviewing all of the available products in the market we chose Intelligenz as the provider to manage all of Council's recreation and leisure facilities, and our first step was to use the swim school components.

"Intelligenz has already proven to be an outstanding solution for us, they have truly innovative software, experienced and responsive staff and our swim school launch has been a great success in no small part to the speed and ease we were able to implement the solution.

"We had a new team internally at Council to implement the system, and they have been enthusiastic and dedicated to making this a success. We can see as we roll the intelligenz solution out to manage our other recreation and council facilities that we have an outstanding booking, membership and POS solution.

"We understand why a significant number of other Councils are joining us in reviewing Intelligenz as the leading solution for recreation and leisure facilities in Australia and New Zealand. "

Anne Battersby, Chief Executive of Christchurch based Intelligenz, adds "Timaru have assembled a first class management group in the early implementation of Swim School and it is great to work with such competent and driven staff to reach the deadlines we all agreed to.

"Swim School is one step in a much larger project we have with the Council, and with our deep experience in the fitness industry we look forward to implementing the rest of the wet and dry requirements for the CBay opening and the broader recreation and leisure facilities that Council manages."
