Tickets on sale for FIBA Women‘s World Cup in Sydney

Set to take place in Sydney from 22nd September to 1st October tickets for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 have gone on sale.

Returning to Australia for the first time since 1994, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA)’s flagship women’s event will be held at the Qudos Bank Arena and the Quaycentre - which will revert to their unbranded names of the Sydney SuperDome and Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre for the duration of the tournament.

The group phase will start with the current number one side, the USA, taking on Belgium and hosts Australia going up against France while the final phase will begin on 29th September, culminating in the third-place game and final, a double-header ticket opportunity on 1st October.

Ticketing packages are also available for basketball fans to purchase, including group phase, day pass and final phase options.

Looking forward to the event, FIBA Secretary General, Andreas Zagklis stated “we are happy to reach another FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 milestone on the road to Sydney with this ticket launch, and we can feel the excitement building as we get closer to the September 22 tip-off.

“We hope basketball fans from around the world will secure their tickets so they can watch their favourite players take the court.”

FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 Local Organising Committee Chief Executive, Melissa King, advised “with under six months to go until the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 tips off, I’m delighted to see tickets going on sale to the public.

“It’s an exciting milestone as momentum continues to build for what is promising to be a highly entertaining event, filled with thrilling matchups and engaging fan activations.”

Following its invasion of Ukraine, Russia has been banned from the tournament.

Tickets, which went on sale on Tuesday, are available at Ticketek.
