Theme parks driving surge in Gold Coast tourism visits
Despite rising COVID-19 cases, Queensland tourism is welcoming a surge in summer visitors with the state’s borders having finally opened.
Between the border’s reopening on 14th December and 21st December, almost a quarter of a million people from NSW, Victoria and the ACT poured into Queensland.
The Gold Coast’s theme parks have seen guests flooding through the gates, drawn by the prospect of enjoying established rides and attractions as well as recent additions such as Australia’s tallest waterpark slide at Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast and Dreamworld's new Steel Taipan rollercoaster.
The post Christmas period has also seen Warner Bros. Movie World launch a new exhibition, WB Studio Showcase - Batman Legacy Exhibition featuring a collection of costumes, cars and props from the Batman cinematic universe spanning over three decades.
The WB Studio Showcase - Batman Legacy takes guests on a journey through the cinematic world of the Batman including the original Batman, Batman Returns, Batman & Robin, Batman Forever, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice films.
Introducing the new attraction, Village Roadshow Theme Parks Chief Operating Officer, Bikash Randhawa stated “(this) is a visual and uniquely immersive walkthrough experience for our guests which will bring the amazing Batman movies to life in this unique, purpose-built exhibition.
“This is the third iteration of our WB Studio Showcase and we can’t wait for our guests to step inside the venue and become transported into the cinematic universes of the Dark Knight where they can explore the evolution of Batman through film.
“Excitingly, guests can explore epic costumes including a variety of Bat suits, The Joker’s iconic purple and orange overcoat, Catwoman suit and my personal favourite, the impressive collection of cowls throughout the years.”
