GCCEC’s Adrienne Readings named Board Chair at Destination Gold Coast
Destination Gold Coast (DGC) has announced the appointment of Adrienne Readings as Chair of the Board, succeeding Paul Donovan, who served a 17-year tenure in this role.
Bringing extensive experience of the tourism sector to the board, Readings is currently General Manager of the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC) and volunteers on several boards and committees.
She has also been instrumental in securing major financial gains and a building strong future for the city.
Commenting on her appointment, Readings stated “I’m honoured to take on this role at such a crucial time for tourism on the Gold Coast and am looking forward to working with all stakeholders to ensure that the city continues to shine as a destination for both business and leisure tourism.”
“DGC has an incredibly strong team led by CEO Patricia O’Callaghan, supporting our local operators and businesses. Our vision is to build on our history as one of Australia’s most popular destinations into an even more attractive choice for visitors,” she continued.
Donovan added “I have known Adrienne for many years and am confident in handing over the reins to her. Adrienne has been a strong and active supporter of the Gold Coast throughout her career and takes every opportunity to grow the reputation and success of our city.”
Australia’s largest regional convention centre, GCCEC offers a a massive main arena, four exhibition halls and a range of meeting rooms catering for up to 6,000 people, GCCEC is the destination-of-choice for conferences, exhibitions, concerts, trade shows and events.
Readings’ appointment was effective from Wednesday 24th November.
