The gemba Group appointed by Foxtel

Following a highly competitive pitch process, Foxtel has appointed specialist sport and entertainment agency gemba to support the development and implementation of its $20 million national football development and Grassroots program, as well as a second investment to be announced shortly.

gemba is well placed to advise Foxtel, having worked with Toyota, Netball Australia, Tennis Australia and Surfing Australia guiding and supporting their extensive investments in grassroots sports programs.

These relationships, alongside its proprietary research program, ensure that gemba has an unparalleled understanding of the sports participation motivations and barriers in Australia that often drive the need for bespoke solutions.

gemba Sydney General Manager Andrew Condon explained "we're delighted to have been selected to work on this project and can't wait to get started. Foxtel shares our rigorous approach to sport and entertainment investments, and we look forward to working with them and Tim Cahill to make significant impact on grassroots football in Australia."

Foxtel Head of Sports Marketing Peter Jarmain added "we were very impressed with gemba's creative approach, which was based on extensive insights into the sport and entertainment landscape.

"The gemba team also demonstrated a great understanding of our business and its drivers during the process. We look forward to further developing what is already a great working relationship."

gemba is a market leading provider of insights, strategies and ideas to the global sport and entertainment industry.

gemba's work is underpinned by one of the largest consumer research programs in this industry and its client list includes some of the world's best brands and sport and entertainment organisations.

With offices in Shanghai, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland, gemba has delivered projects in most major markets around the world and is increasingly bringing a truly global perspective to this rapidly changing market.
