Technology solution to enhance security in 24 hour gyms

A new automated technology solution from Kudos Security Solutions, aims to increase security and income in 24/7 gym environments.

Offering an integrated security system with monitored CCTV with visual verification of all alarms, a tailgating detection system, building automation, intruder alarms and intercom systems,  Kudos Security Solutions integrates with most existing access control and member management systems to offer security and peace of mind for both gym owners and managers.

By shutting down electricity use when a gym is not in use, the system also saves energy costs.

At the Outfit 24 gym in the Brisbane suburb of Nundah, Kudos Security Brisbane were able to provide a secure gym automation system, that is functional, energy smart and safe for customers.

When members access the gym after regular gym hours, after swiping their membership card at the front door, the door locks securely behind them and the gym comes to life. Lights, screens, exercise equipment and music are all turned on by is on, ready for a workout.

If the security system senses no movement for 30 minutes the automation system tells any customers inside to rescan their card. If no one is detected inside, the lights, monitors and sound system switch off and the security system is armed ensuring not only the building security but, also saving electricity.

Each time a member enters the gym, their visit is logged and that information is sent back to the gym’s Clubware software keeping up-to-date records automatically.

The secure automation system includes one button call stations to ensure that in an emergency, so that users and staff can talk to a trained professional at a touch of a button.

Explaining how its security system aids 24/7 gyms through secure access control, a Kudos spokesperson sated “nowadays, in order to stay competitive, gyms are looking to reduce running costs while increasing revenue (and) becoming a 24/7 fitness centre is a great way to do this.

“By giving customers the ability to fit a workout around a busy schedule, secure 24 hour gyms will appeal to a greater range of customers offering a service that puts you ahead of your competitors.”
