Technogym movement campaign attracts record participation

World leading wellness company Technogym has advised that the 2019 edition of its ‘Let’s Move for a Better World’ activity campaign has seen a community of 200,000 people participate in activity around the world.

Held from 11th to 30th March, the sixth edition of the worldwide social initiative again set out to raise awareness in the fight against obesity and sedentariness, embodying Technogym’s mission to improve wellness on a global scale.

Backed by Technogym’s ecosystem and Mywellness, gym members in fitness facilities around the world joined forces to donate their movement and promote wellness and healthy lifestyles in their local community and beyond.

Participants’ MOVEs - Technogym’s unit for measuring movement - were logged through Technogym’s Mywellness cloud - the first open platform in the industry, connecting people and fitness facilities all over the world.

This year the campaign has allowed an increased number of operators to win and donate a piece of Technogym equipment to a not-for-profit organization of their choice, thanks to the awarding system which enables every facility to win by reaching predefined targets of movement performed.

Key results from the 2019 edition included :

• 1373 fitness facilities across 32 countries took part
• 200.000 participants tracked their exercise on Technogym equipment collecting MOVEs - Technogym’s unit of measurement for movement
• A total of 766 million MOVEs were generated
• This represents over 345 million calories burned or approximately 49,442 kilograms lost

Moreover, a representative for each of the participating facilities will get the chance to take part to the Technogym Forum at the Technogym Village, in the Italian city of Cesena from 16th to 19th May.

The Forum allows participants to share knowledge on how physical activity can provide a vital contribution to building a more sustainable society based on personal health, and to celebrate the campaign winners during the official award ceremony.
