Technogym backs Westpac's Enduro 2015 fundraiser

More than 100 employees from Westpac’s Sydney city branches recently participated in the ‘Enduro’ fundraising event to raise $20,000 to help address social disadvantage.

The event consisted of a non-stop 40 kilometre running and cycling challenge to raise money for the Westpac Foundation’s Community Grants program. For the occasion, 10 Technogym treadmills and bikes were installed at the Westpac Forum on Level 23, Kent Street - overlooking the Sydney CBD.

InBody, international leader in body composition scanning machines, was also present on site to offer a free analysis of the overall body composition and health status of each of the partecipants.

Commenting on the success of the event, Maitland Bardwell, Regional General Manager Sydney City at Westpac, stated “our goal is to raise enough funds for two community grants - valued at $10,000 each - which will mean two grassroots, not-for-profit organisations in the Sydney CBD will benefit.

“These much-needed grants support local organisations to help create better futures for youth at risk, homeless, people living with a disability, unemployed and Indigenous Australians.”

Last year, Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) was a recipient of the Community Grant, allowing 24 economically disadvantaged young people from Sydney’s inner suburbs to attend holiday drama workshops to develop skills in a positive and safe environment.

Commenting on their involvement in the event, a Technogym spokesperson stated “this remarkable initiative takes place less than a month after the conclusion of the global charity campaign Let’s Move for a Better World, joined by over 79,000 people in 356 fitness clubs across 17 countries.

“We are proud to support Westpac with a fitness contest alike and are continuously committed to working with our partners in advancing the agenda for wellness and health in many different ways.”
