Tasmania Football Club 'ready to work' with incoming Government
With uncertainty surrounding which party or parties will form the state's next Government following Saturday's election, the Tasmania Football Club has released a statement advising that it "stands ready to work with the incoming Tasmanian Government and elected members once the election outcomes are resolved."
With the development of a new Hobart Stadium for the AFL's 19th team a key election issue, albeit that it is supported by Tasmania's two main political parties, the Club's statement advised "we are focused on entering the AFL and AFLW by 2028, in order to do that we have several timeframes that must be met. We are very eager to work with the Government to realise these.
"In the meantime, we will stay focused on building our Club, we have no time to lose.
"We are very thankful for the ongoing support and encouragement of our Club, we cannot wait to bring these teams to reality - together."
At its most recent Board meeting on 11th July, the Club continued the discussion of its 'Momentum, Milestones and Membership' strategy.
In a statement released after this 20th Board meeting it advised "when our provisional licence was announced back in 2023, 2028 sounded a long way off.
"But there is much to do, and we now have several critical timeframe projects that are pressing, specifically in the infrastructure space.
"We are eager to work with the key stakeholders over the coming months to see these timeframes met."
