Tasmanian Government launches community consultation for Hobart Stadium project
Moving forward with its plans for a new AFL stadium at Hobert’s Macquarie Point, the Tasmanian Government has released the draft integrated guidelines to assess the project.
With the state Parliament having approved the Order declaring the stadium as a Project of State Significance, Tasmanian Minister for Stadia and Events, Nic Street advised that the guidelines “will inform the design of the stadium, and the application that will be prepared for the panel's consideration.”
The assessment, which includes opportunities for community input, is undertaken by the Commission at arms-length from the Government.
In assembling its team for the plan, the position of Stadium Project Director has been advertised.
Key tenders will also be released shortly to procure project management expertise to deliver the project, with a Request for Tender process to secure a suitably experienced team to design the stadium. Set to be released in January.
Applications for the Stadium Project Director are open until Sunday 21st January.
