Taroona Bowls and Community Club secures funding for new synthetic green
The Tasmanian Government’s 2025-26 Budget has allocated funding for a new synthetic green and associated facilities for the Taroona Bowls and Community Club, located in southern Hobart.
The Club is an important facility for the local community, hosting events for organisations such as the Taroona scouts, the schools and the fire service.
The new synthetic green will enable the Club to hold community bowling events in winter and increase the number of club competitions on offer.
Tasmanian Premier Jeremy Rockliff noted “The Taroona Bowls and Community Club is a much-loved facility for this region, and this funding will support it to become a year-round bowls venue.
“As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, we are investing in community sporting facilities across the State.
“This year’s Budget delivers what we said we would do, with a $300,000 investment in the Taroona Bowls and Community Club for a new synthetic green.”
