Sydney's Centennial Parklands seeks Open Air Cinema and Theatre Performance business operator
The Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust is seeking an operator for a seasonal open air cinema and theatre performance business at Belvedere Amphitheatre, located within Centennial Parklands.
The current 10-year licence agreement to operate the open air cinema business expires at the end of the 2012/13 season and the Trust is seeking proposals from suitably qualified and experienced business operators to enter into a licence agreement for up to a maximum of 10 years (or a five year term with an option to renew for a further five years).
Achieving success and popularity with event organisers and the public alike, Belvedere Amphitheatre is a natural bowl formed out of the landscaped landforms of the picturesque Centennial Park. The venue is ideal for staging open air events such as acoustic concerts, recitals, plays and seasonal open air cinema.
With views across the Parklands to Botany Bay, the Amphitheatre is located in Centennial Park and is close to public transport routes. The area has been the home of outdoor cinema since 1997, as well as hosting outdoor Shakespeare performances and a Sydney Dance Company production.
The Trust is prepared to encourage opportunities for investment in infrastructure which is venue specific, of high quality and in harmony with the unique setting of the Belvedere Amphitheatre
