Sydney Opera House partners with Virgin Active Health Clubs to deliver four-week fitness series

The Sydney Opera House has announced a partnership with gym group Virgin Active Health Clubs to deliver a four-week fitness series on the forecourt of the harbourside landmark.

The 'Get Active at the House' series of group fitness classes at the Sydney Opera House offers Sydneysiders and visitors the chance to experience the venue in a new way and rediscover the city.

Get Active at the House that will include early morning and evening classes of high intensity interval training (HIIT), yoga and Pilates on the Eastern Podium at the top of the spectacular Monumental Steps, and on its Northern Broadwalk.

Led by a team of expert Virgin Active coaches, the series will kick off on Tuesday 9th March, running until Thursday 1st April. Classes are suitable for all fitness levels and will run daily at 7am with additional evening classes at 6pm on selected evenings. The full schedule is available to view here. On Saturdays, special 60-minute classes will blend HIIT, yoga and Pilates together for a unique, full body workout, while yoga enthusiasts will have the option of a longer 75-minute practice on Sundays.

On social media, the gym group advised "Sydneysiders, it’s Virgin Active like you’ve never experienced before. World-class exercise with the very best views of Sydney."

The cost is $25 per class with Virgin Active members getting a 40% discount.

From 9th to 30th March, the Sydney Opera House is also been offering free dance classes on its forecourt under the 'Every Body Dance Now' banner.
