Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre backs Dive Expo
Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre (SOPAC) is to host the Oceania Dive Travel and Watersports Expo (ODEX) on the weekend of 8th and 9th September.
Co-located with Blue Edge, the international freediving and spearfishing event, the promoters of ODEX describes the event as "a family friendly two-day extravaganza of product showcases, media launches and seminars relating to scuba diving, dive destinations, underwater imaging, freediving, spearfishing, fin swimming and marine conservation."
ODEX offers attendees the opportunity to interact with exhibitors (who will be exhibiting on the SOPAC pool deck); to hear from industry leaders, visionaries, teachers and talented athletes at a wide-ranging seminar program addressing dive industry issues; and the opportunity to view a series of special events, including:
The Australian Open Fin Swimming Championships; and
The Scuba Schools International (SSI) World Series Freediving Championships.
Along with underwater rugby and underwater hockey exhibition matches.
Admission costs $7 ($6 for children) with the ticket entitling visitor to use SOPAC's leisure pools and four hours of free car parking when validated.
