SWIM Coaches and Teachers Australia welcomes elite coaching appointments for LA 2028

SWIM Coaches & Teachers Australia (SWIM/SCTA) has congratulated the “remarkable coaches” appointed to guide Swimming Australia’s national teams through the next Olympic and Paralympic cycle.

SWIM notes that the appointments of Rohan Taylor, Mel Tantrum, Simon Cusack and Fernando Possenti represent the perfect blend of experience, innovation, and dedication. These esteemed coaches will take on pivotal roles, ensuring Australia’s swimming future remains as bright as ever.

SWIM Chief Executive, Brendon Ward stated “our nation’s swimming success rests on the shoulders of exceptional leaders like these.

“We are excited to see how their collective expertise will inspire athletes, elevate performances, and continue Australia’s legacy of excellence in the pool.

“On behalf of SWIM, I extend our full support and commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for our coaches and athletes to perform when it matters on the international stage.

“Congratulations to each coach on their well-deserved appointments - your leadership is set to guide Australian swimming to even greater heights.”

Swimming Australia’s recent administrative and coaching reforms are explored in a feature in the latest issue of the printed Australasian Leisure Management magazine.
