Super Netball finals locked in for South East Queensland

Brisbane’s Nissan Arena will host the 2021 Suncorp Super Netball League Grand Final, with the Finals Series to played in South East Queensland over the next three weeks.

Nissan Arena will also host next Saturday’s Semi-Finals, which have been locked in after the final matches of the home and away season were played today.

Minor premier GIANTS Netball will take on the NSW Swifts in the Major Semi-Final at 1pm, with the winner securing their spot in the Grand Final.

In the Minor Semi-Final, the West Coast Fever will play the Sunshine Coast Lightning at 3pm for the chance to come up against the loser of the GIANTS-Swifts clash.

The Preliminary Final will then be fought out at USC Stadium on Saturday 21st August at 3pm, before the premier is crowned in the Grand Final on Saturday 28th August at 2:30pm at Nissan Arena.

The League is working with Queensland Health to determine if crowds can attend the Finals Series.

Confirming the finals fixtures, Netball Australia Chief Executive, Kelly Ryan stated “we would like to thank all the teams for their determination and sacrifice in what has been a very challenging season.

“It’s fantastic to lock in the finals fixture, which will bring plenty of excitement to netball fans right across the country.

“We would also like to thank the Queensland Government for their support of the Suncorp Super Netball competition, especially over the past two seasons.”

Queensland Tourism and Sport Minister, Stirling Hinchliffe added “we know the global pandemic has thrown up complex challenges for many in our community.

“Super Netball has shown great tenacity in making sure the show goes on for the finals series in a COVIDSafe environment.     

“Events like the Super Netball League finals series shows Queensland’s growth as a national sporting hub ahead of Brisbane’s 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”

The Finals Series will be broadcast on the Nine Network and via the Netball Live app, giving fans across the country the opportunity to watch the world’s best netball league live.
