Business Events Sunshine Coast (BESC) has announced that it has secured the 2015 Queensland Information Centres Association (QICA) conference.
Announced this week in Mackay at the 2014 QICA Conference by QICA, the event will attract up to 100 tourism industry stakeholders, staff and volunteers from Visitor Information Centres (VICs) throughout Queensland.
BESC Business Events Manager Pippa McCreery explained “successfully bidding for and hosting this important event highlights the ability of our organisation to work with key partners such as Oaks Oasis Resort in Caloundra to secure this conference.
“Holding the QICA conference in our region presents an unprecedented opportunity to showcase the Sunshine Coast to frontline Visitor Information Centre representatives from around Queensland and educate them on what our destination has to offer.”
QICA President Nicky Young said the Association is delighted to announce the Sunshine Coast has won the bid to host the 2015 QICA conference.
Young explained "the conference plays a vital role in networking and connecting delegates with the wider tourism community, whilst also learning about the host region’s facilities.
