Sunbather offers a solution to soaring energy costs for Sydney pools

With a number of Sydney councils facing having to raise admission costs for their pools in the wake of ballooning gas prices, leading solar pool heating and pool cover supplier Sunbather Pool Technologies has highlighted that there are alternatives to increasing entry costs and pool closures.

In a communiqué to stakeholders, a company statement advises “a Sunbather, we see this issue all the time as councils and customers contact us for advice on how to reduce both their gas and electricity bills dramatically.

“We see in the news on a daily basis that Australia is entering a major energy crisis when it comes to gas supplies and electricity production with costs rising across the board, which will hit not only commercial swimming pools, but cause residential consumers to re-think how they heat their backyard pools more efficiently.

“Fortunately, the answer is simple and has been around for a long time - collect solar energy from the cheapest and most abundant source, the sun - and lock that heat into the pool using thermal pool covers.

“By using the right combination of solar heating, pool covers, and gas/electricity as a 'top up' only, the energy concerns of these Sydney pools would disappear and their bottom line would look much healthier.”

Sunbather offer a free Pool Energy Audit using PoolHeat software and advice on how to avoid rising energy costs.

The Sunbather statement concludes “this energy audit will help you to better understand your energy consumption and in most cases, a solar heating and pool covers combination will cut your energy costs by up to two thirds.”
