Stuart Dart Awarded AEG Ogden PVMS Scholarship
Stuart Dart, Manager of Events at the Sydney Cricket & Sports Ground Trust, has been named the winner of the 2009 AEG Ogden Public Venue Management School Scholarship.
The announcement was made by Rod Pilbeam, Executive Director of AEG Ogden at the Venue Management Association's (VMA) recent After-Five function held at the Sydney Opera House.
AEG Ogden has provided the funding for an annual scholarship (together with assistance in arranging venue visits) for the leading graduate from PVMS each year since its inception, and recently increased the value from $5,000 to $10,000 per annum.
Chairman of the PVMS Committee, Trevor Dohnt, said, "congratulations to Stuart on being awarded the AEG Ogden Scholarship for 2009. The award not only takes into account your results achieved in the school assessments but recognises your professionalism, attitude and contributions you made throughout the school weeks.
"(It's) a fitting recognition for a job well done."
Pilbeam also announced changes to future AEG Ogden PVMS Scholarship Conditions.
Following the introduction by the IAAM of the Graduate Institute course at its annual Public Assembly Facility Management School (PAFMS), there has been a good deal of interest from PVMS graduates in participating in that program.
Approval has been received from the VMA Council and the Board of Regents of the PAFMS for the following change in the composition of the award.
The selected graduate will receive enrolment in the PAFMS Graduate Institute at Oglebay, USA as soon as they can make the necessary arrangements to undertake the travel and time away from their workplace. All travel and Graduate Institute fees will be covered by the award and the winner will also be entitled to make at least one venue visit in another city during the trip to participate at the School. AEG Ogden will continue to assist in the arrangements for the venue visit.
In announcing the changes, Pilbeam explained that "the changes to the annual Scholarship further demonstrates AEG Ogden's commitment to supporting industry-based education and the value of international exposure to up and coming managers in our industry. AEG Ogden is delighted to continue our support for PVMS, and in particular for this Scholarship."
President of the VMA Council, Steve Romer said, âon behalf of the VMA Iâd like to thank AEG Ogden for your ongoing support of the VMA through the AEG Ogden PVMS Scholarship, and your continued generosity and support of educational advancement for venue industry professionals.?
