Strong by Zumba begins to make its mark in Australia
Introduced globally earlier this year, STRONG By Zumba is making its mark in Australia with classes now available at Crunch Fitness gyms around Sydney and in Melbourne as well at the UFC GYM in the Sydney suburb of Alexandria.
A non-dance, music-led, high-intensity exercise class that combines bodyweight, muscle conditioning, cardio, and plyometric training moves, STRONG By Zumba routines are created first with music then reverse engineered to expertly match to each move, so participants can work out to the beat and stop counting repetitions.
Created by Dance-fitness program innovator Zumba, STRONG classes incorporate body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric training moves.
STRONG By Zumba Master Trainer Jarrod Tucker explains the strengths of the program:
1. STRONG by Zumba gives you a super post-workout burn - Combining a high-intensity workout with muscle conditioning stimulates a higher caloric burn for the entire workout, and a higher rate of post workout burn. The class is one-hour long and divided into four quadrants, designed to give you the maximum burn in the shortest amount of time.
2. STRONG by Zumba teaches you coordination and form - Plyometric or explosive moves like high knees, burpees, and jumping jacks are interchanged with isometric moves like lunges, squats, and kickboxing. The design of this program pushes you to train your body to the tempo and your body will begin to recognize the moves after you've taken a couple of classes.
3 .The music plays a huge role in motivating you - No HIIT program exists where music acts as the main motivator, until now. you'll do more burpees, squats and lunges than you ever thought you could because each squat, lunge and burpee is driven by the music, helping you make it to the last rep.
4. Your core is going to thank you Big Time - Since there is no equipment in class, we use our own body weight and incorporate a variety of progressions and levels of intensity. Bodyweight training requires enormous amounts of core engagement in every exercise. With one quadrant entirely dedicated to floor exercises, the 29 muscles that make up your core won’t know what hit them!
5 .You'll be challenged in every class - STRONG by Zumba® instructors change up the music and moves frequently to make sure you’re always challenged to the max.
