Stonnington pools secure Life Saving Victoria Gold endorsement

City of Stonnington’s pools – the Harold Holt Swim Centre and Prahran Aquatic Centre - have once again secured the coveted Gold endorsement from Life Saving Victoria’s (LSV) Pool Safety Assessment.

First awarded in 2022, the pools received their most recent Gold endorsement in July 2025 and November 2024 respectively.

Gold is the highest rating available through LSV Pool Safety Assessment and requires a 100% compliance score and a safety score of more than 95%.

This top-tier recognition reflects outstanding performance in safety supervision, risk management, staff training, internal systems and adherence to the guidelines for Safe Pool Operations.

Both Harold Holt Swim Centre and Prahran Aquatic Centre achieved 100% compliance across all assessable sections and a strong overall safety score of 96.82% and 97.92% respectively. While the facilities met all operational and procedural requirements within its control, the final score was influenced by architectural limitations.

With fewer than half of Victoria’s public pools achieving Gold status in 2023-24, City of Stonnington’s dual-facility endorsement places their pools among the state’s safest and most well-managed aquatic centres in the state.   

This endorsement reflects the City of Stonnington’s broader approach and commitment to safety with the City noting "by embedding safety as a core value in everything we do from public spaces to aquatic facilities, we ensure every member of the community can enjoy safe, welcoming environments.”
