Steve Waugh joins SCG Trust

Former Australian cricket captain Steve Waugh has been appointed a member of the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust.
NSW Premier Nathan Rees also re-appointed Alan Jones AO, John McCarthy QC, Kaye Schofield, Tony Shepherd and Paul Warren as Trustees for further four year terms are. Rodney Cavalier AO, SCG Trust Chairman since succeeding Sir Nicholas Shehadie in 2001, will continue as Chairman.
The other seven Trustees are John Cloney, Ken Catchpole OAM, Kerry Chikarovski, The Hon Michael Cleary AO, Michael Eyers AM, Catherine Harris AO PSM and Rod McGeoch AM LLB.
Waugh becomes the 10th former Test cricketer to serve as a Trustee following Monty Noble, Alan Kippax, Jack Gregory, Stan McCabe, Arthur Morris, Ian Craig, Alan Davidson, Alan Turner and Geoff Lawson.
Waugh played 168 Tests for Australia (a world record for most Tests played) including 57 as captain, and scored 10,927 runs at an average of 51.06. He also took 92 Test wickets at 37.45.
An author of 12 books, Waugh is Founder and Chairman of the Steve Waugh Foundation Australia, Founder and Chairman of the Steve Waugh Foundation Global, Chairman of the Steve Waugh Charitable Trust â India, Patron of the Calcutta Girls Foundation and the Conductive Education Centre (NSW).
