Counting down to its inaugural Festival of Sport in Adelaide this weekend, Sport SA, the peak industry body for sport in South Australia, has announced that it will revealing new branding to coincide with the event.

In a communication sent to stakeholders today, Sport SA advise that "our new brand reflects our commitment to bringing together the South Australian sporting community to create opportunities that empower people across the state.

"Together, we aim to shape a future where sport becomes a catalyst for positive change."

Set to be held at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre from 29th June to 1st July, the three-day program will offer unique opportunities to connect, think and play in a relaxed, dynamic and future-focused environment.

The program features prominent keynote speakers from across Australia delivering TED style thought leadership sessions, the sharing of inspirational stories and panel discussions on key topics, including 2023 Australian of the Year Taryn Brumfitt, Australian Sports Foundation Chief Executive Patrick Walker, Port Adelaide Football Club Chief Executive Matthew Richardson and researchers from Flinders University, Swinburn University, The Office for Children and Young People and the South Australian Sports Medical Association.

“Volunteers in our clubs and our State Sporting Organisations are over-worked and needing resources to meet the needs of their participants.

“The Festival of Sport aims to address these gaps and breathe life into the South Australian sports ecosystem.”

Backing the event, Katrine Hildyard, South Australia’s Minister for Sport, Recreation and Racing, stated “sport is at the heart of communities across our state.

“It’s vital that we help codes and clubs to build capacity to keep doing all that they do across South Australia to improve people’s lives, to enhance physical, social and emotional health and wellbeing and to develop social cohesion.

“This Festival of Sport is all about supporting and empowering sporting institutions across South Australia to be confident in their efforts, to grow and to thrive.

“Our Government has provided funding to Sport SA to run this Conference; we hope it brings sport together in a really positive and connected way that makes a difference in their ongoing efforts.

“South Australia has a long and proud history of excellence and achievement in sport, and initiatives like the Festival of Sport will allow us to ensure this continues.”
