Sport SA set to stage inaugural South Australian Festival of Sport

Looking to showcase and celebrate our South Australia’s sport ecosystem, state peak body Sport SA is approaching the staging of the inaugural South Australian Festival of Sport.

Set to be held at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre from 29th June to 1st July, Sport SA (the South Australian Sports Federation Incorporated), describe the event as “think Fringe Festival (but) for sport”.

They add “the three-day program will offer unique opportunities to connect and share in a relaxed, dynamic and future-focused environment.

“This conference is for leaders that wish to give back, for graduates considering a career in the sports industry, for professionals and volunteers who are passionate about learning and knowledge-sharing, and for sports fans looking to mix and mingle.”

FS23 includes six seminar streams: Leadership, the Flinders University 'pop up' Campus, the SA Sports Medicine Association Sport Science Learning Lab, SportsGrid Technology Street, ActiveXchange Grassroots Community Learning Labs and an interactive Entertainment Zone.

An opening night event on Thursday 29th June 2023 will also feature a panel discussion on the theme: Maximising Sport Tourism and Major Events in South Australia Why bring them, How can we get them, What do we do with them?

Speakers during FS23 will include:

  • Nick Haslam, Managing Director, LIV Golf Adelaide

  • Kimberley Conte, Head of FIFA Women’s World Cup Adelaide and Legacy
