Sport SA highlights priorities and challenges leading into 2018 South Australian Election
Leading into the 2018 South Australian election, peak industry body Sport SA has formulated a policy platform outlining the issues and recommendations that the next South Australian Government should recognise as being integral to the sustainability of the sports industry.
Sport SA highlights that sport is at the heart of the community and is an integral part of the South Australian lifestyle and that, as an industry, sport and recreation employs more than 10,000 people in South Australia with 870,000 regularly participating in sport as part of 80 associations encompassing over 4,000 clubs, supported by 174,000 volunteers.
In a statement Sport SA explains “sport is facing many challenges in the current environment and we are seeking to work together to enable more South Australians to enjoy sport and recreation as part of a healthy, active lifestyle.
“Our members provide quality sport and recreation opportunities for the participants and together with increased support by Government we will be able to achieve our shared strategic goals of making more South Australians active.
“The delivery of the priorities outlined below will enable the sustainability of vibrant sport and recreation in our state with the specific challenges faced by our members detailed in the attached document.”
