Sport NSW presents 2021 community and volunteer award winners

In recognition of the outstanding achievements and contributions to community sport in NSW over the past year - largely carried out by a volunteer workforce - Sport NSW will be presenting 23 Distinguished Long Service Awards at the upcoming NSW Community Sports Awards on 17th June at Bankwest Stadium.

The 23 Distinguished Long Service Award recipients come from a wide cross-section of sport and will receive their Award from NSW Minister for Sport, Natalie Ward.

Sport NSW Chairperson, Carolyn Campbell said the 2021 cohort were worthy Award recipients and noted “Sport in NSW relies on people such as these men and women who have generously devoted countless hours of their time, year in and year, out over many decades. Sport in NSW is forever in their debt.

“It is fitting these Distinguished Long Service Award recipients are recognised and honoured. They have given the opportunity to so many to play sport and allow them to enjoy the physical, mental, and social benefits sports participation provides.

“They have been dedicated champions for their sport and have provided a magnificent community legacy for others to aspire to and follow.”

The Awards presentation evening will also celebrate volunteers across 10 categories for their outstanding achievements and excellence to sport over the past year.

The categories are Community Official of the Year, Young Official of the Year, Community Coach of the Year, Young Coach of the Year, Community Sports Administrator of the Year, Volunteer Director of the Year, Community Team of the Year, Community Club of the Year, Local Council of the Year and Community Event of the Year.
