Sport Auckland begins search for Chief Executive
Sport Auckland, the new body responsible for strategic decision making and investment in sport across the Auckland region, has begun a search for its founding Chief Executive.
Backed by by the four Auckland Regional Sports Trusts (RSTs), Sport New Zealand (Sport NZ), and Auckland Regional Council, Auckland Sport will draw together providers and stakeholders to deliver a comprehensive strategy for sport and recreation in Auckland.
In addition to addressing a noted regional leadership gap, other benefits of the new entity will include more uniform service delivery by the individual Auckland RSTs, provision of a single point of contact for all RST sport and recreation stakeholders operating across Auckland, and being able to leverage opportunities and investment through a single shared voice.
The new organisation is now seeking a leader able to drive it forward.
