Software aids communication with parents about their children’s swimming lesson progression

Software provider GreeneDesk has had another hit with their latest application for aquatic education with over 20 facilities implementing The SwimDesk technology since its launch in May.

The SwimDesk system allows swim schools to conduct assessments of their students and communicate with parents about the progression of their children through key features such as assessment emails and an online parent portal.

The assessment email features allows teachers on the pool deck to send an email notification to a parent at the conclusion of the child’s assessment. The email notifies the parent that an assessment has taken place, the outcome and other relevant information. The email includes login details to an online portal where the parent can view up to date skill progression of their child, areas requiring further improvement, an assessment history and any comments from the teacher.

The system was developed after research confirmed that the biggest critism of learn to swim programs was a lack of communication with parents about their child’s progression. GreeneDesk embarked on a 12 month software development process before launching the program in May.

GreenDesk Sales Manager Lane Harrison explained  it was a lengthy process to develop and refine the system to a successful working model.

Harrison stated “since launching the system in May the feedback has been amazing, the most pleasing aspect is the login rates from parents.

“Over 60% of parents are regularly logging in and checking their child’s progress which shows us that they value this content.”

SwimDesk can integrate into mainstream member management systems and curriculum and content can be customised to suit any aquatic education program.
