Snow Australia launches its Emerging Talent Program for 2022/23

Snow Australia Emerging Talent Program has invited 81 athletes cross Freestyle Moguls, Snowboard Cross, Park and Pipe (Freeski and Snowboard), Alpine and Cross Country to join the program after a thorough nomination process.

The Emerging Talent Program is Snow Australia Talent Identification and Development program which aims to identify, support and enhance preparation of potential performance athletes for transition into the performance pathway programs. It is made possible via funding from the AIS Performance Pathway funding stream and with support from The Lind Partners and the Hancock Family.

Following a newly adopted Talent Identification approach implemented during the 2021 ETP, the 2022 program will continue to facilitate additional activity support in conjunction with the current pathway programs. Services offered to the athletes include education, testing, strength and conditioning support, and pre/post season camps.

Snow Australia Performance Health and Talent Manager Ben Bond noted “this is a really exciting time being year one of an Olympic quad.

“We are heavy in the planning phase for what our next four and eight years may look like, with a key piece being around talent identification and appropriate development.

“We look forward to working with the pathway clubs and Snowsports community on how we can create the best environment possible for the next generation to come through the ranks.”

The ETP group will gather for a pre-season camp at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) from 17th-19th June before what’s slated to be a massive domestic winter season.
