Ski Dubai selects Gateway as new ticketing provider

Gateway Ticketing Systems has announced that it has been selected by indoor ski resort Ski Dubai as its new ticketing point of sale provider.

One of the United Arab Emirates’ landmark attractions, Ski Dubai offers a wintery mountain-themed setting and five ski runs, including the world’s first indoor black run, Ski Dubai is home to 24 King and Gentoo penguins.

The site’s million plus annual visitors will enjoy an enhanced visitor experience with the implementation of Gateway’s flagship point of sale solution, Galaxy™.

Skiers will have the option to purchase tickets onsite at the venue or online ahead of time using the venue’s eGalaxy Web Store. In addition to front gate and consumer online sales, the venue will also employ Galaxy’s Upsell module as well as group sales and an integrated business intelligence application.

The project, which is in tandem with Gateway Value Added Reseller, Prologic First, is scheduled to go live in early 2015. Paramount to Ski Dubai’s decision to work with Gateway and Prologic, was Galaxy’s unified point of sale system that integrates multiple sales channels into a single solution that enables them to retain their current access control and RFID locker systems.

As Prologic First Dubai Vice President Amit Sharda explains, this integration was key.

Sharda states “we have pursued this project with Gateway for (more than) two years.

“The evaluation process by the Majid Al Futtaim Group was rigorous and very thorough including competition from other ticketing vendors.

“Gateway and Prologic have provided them with a tightly integrated solution. This project will strengthen our position in the MENA market as we continue to be the leading solution provider for Ticketing & Access Control Solution there.”

Gateway Ticketing Systems Business Solutions Manager Mary Tannous, is excited to see Gateway partner with the landmark location.

She adds “we are thrilled and honored to welcome the Majid Al Futtaim Group and their one-of-a-kind attraction in Dubai and the MENA region to the Gateway family of customers. “I have the highest respect for the Ski Dubai team and was impressed in their thoroughness, professionalism, and high attention to detail throughout the RFP process.

“They did a great job outling their ticketing system needs and focusing on a solution that will grow their business while maintaining and surpassing the level of service and hospitality they currently provide to their customers.

“I have no doubt that they will be able to achieve and exceed their operational goals in 2015 and beyond.”

Ski Dubai is part of the Mall of the Emirates, one of the largest shopping malls in the world, and is owned by the Majid Al Futtaim Group.
