Howard Smith Wharves stages first events
Brisbane’s new events precinct, Howard Smith Wharves has started hosting the first of many events booked in their range of spaces.
The precinct’s inaugural event was for the Australian Airports Association, with a total of 570 guests filling The Rivershed for the National Conference Networking Event.
Guests enjoyed a three hour cocktail event with dishes from HSW Events executive chef Steven Forrester’s menu.
Brisbane event management company LOUD events provided the styling for the event, with managing director Marianne Edmonds saying they are “beyond excited” to have been a partner in delivering the first event at Howard Smith Wharves.
Edmonds stated “this venue is the epitome of Queensland, offering guests a breathtaking view positioned in the heart of Brisbane accompanied with a stunning localised culinary experience.”
With Australian Airports Association having booked the venue through Brisbane Marketing in March 2017, Brisbane Marketing Chief Executive Brett Fraser said the city’s economic development board was proud to have been involved in securing the first ever event at Howard Smith Wharves.
Fraser added “the opening of the event spaces at Howard Smith Wharves marks an important milestone in our city’s transformation.
“Brisbane is undergoing a once-in-a-generation tourism boom and Howard Smith Wharves will continue to increase our city’s appeal as a leading business and leisure tourism destination.”
With over 700 bookings in the next 18 months and through to 2022, in the first week alone Howard’s Hall and The Rivershed will play host to seven events between them.
