Single sex 24/7 gyms thrive at Auburn Gallipoli Mosque

Opened since January, two single sex 24/7 gyms at the Auburn Gallipoli Mosque are offering segregated fitness spaces that adhere to "Islamic core values".

Opened within the grounds of the landmark Sydney mosque, the fully segregated gyms, which have separate entrances, each provide state-of-the-art cardio and weight equipment backed by programs and classes.

With recent fitness industry research from Canstar Blue showing that many fitness club members would pay extra for single-sex environments, the gyms take note of this desire while their single-sex environments also respect Islamic traditions.

The Gallipoli Fitness 24/7 Womens Gym is the only female-only gym in the Auburn area.

Staffed exclusively by women it is a secure facility to ensure the privacy of exercisers.

The gym also offers Zumba, Pilates and belly dancing classes along with access to monthly exercise/nutrition seminars presented by fitness industry leaders.

The Gallipoli Fitness 24/7 Mens Gym has a greater emphasis on strength and cardio equipment, while both gyms offer free exercise programs for beginners and floor support on exercising.

Membership of both gyms requires no joining fee, with competitive membership rates offered.

While respecting Islamic values, both gyms are open to all.

Membership of the gyms was free during the recent month of Ramadan.
