Singapore Marathon recognised with IAAF Gold Label
The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has conferred Gold Label certification to the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS) for the second year running.
The SCMS retained the IAAF Gold Label status following the success of 2012's race, ensuring that Singapore remains among the ranks of world-class marathons such as Berlin, Boston, London, New York and Tokyo.
Held on 2nd December last year, the 2012 Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore attracted 53,000 participants, joining in various categories of events including the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10 kilometre and the 'Kids Dash'.
With three different course routes, runners took in the landmarks of Singapore including Orchard Road, Universal Studios Singapore, Sentosa, Singapore Flyer and Gardens by the Bay.
The 2013 SCMS will be held on 1st December.
