Shire of Moorabool secures funding for new library, gallery and community hub in Ballan

Funding from two Victorian Government programs will deliver a new library and community hub in the town of Ballan in the Shire of Moorabool.

The project will see the Council receive $3.5 million from the Growing Suburbs Fund and $1.5 million from the latest round of the Living Libraries Infrastructure Program.

The Ballan Library and Community Hub will include library services, Maternal and Child Health services, an art exhibition space, visitor information centre and community meeting rooms.

This is the third round of Growing Suburbs Fund support for the Council, with $3.5 million in funding previously provided for the new Early Years and Community Hub at Maddingley West.

Since its establishment in 2015, the Growing Suburbs Fund has facilitated over $1.07 billion in infrastructure, created more than 10,200 jobs and supported 299 projects across Victoria’s fastest-growing areas.

The Living Libraries program has invested more than $42.6 million into 109 projects over the last seven years, allowing a total investment of $297.2 million for new libraries, upgrades to existing facilities and library vans.
