Semaphore Foreshore Playground offers climbing with a difference

The City of Port Adelaide Enfield’s new Semaphore Foreshore Playground offers a series of innovative climbing challenges.

Sited on the Gulf St Vincent shoreline along one of South Australia’s finest beaches, the upgraded playground provides an enjoyable recreation space for children families with play equipment for both younger and older children.

The playground also marks a significant installation of Proludic’s adventure trail based Vertical World system, which aims to aid children master climbing skills in a three dimensional space.

Proludic’s Vertical World provides unique climbing challenges for older children, encouraging them to develop their physical capabilities and improve their balance by climbing in three dimensions.

Through a variety of horizontal, vertical and sloping panels, the Vertical World provides both technical and fun climbing challenges. There are wide openings that enable children to use their agility and strength to go from one side to the other, move on to another module, and then yet another. Other climbing elements such as nets and climbing poles add variety to the activities.

The Playground also features a Dynamo Genesis net from Proludic which allows younger children an opportunity to explore new ways of playing and managing space and heights by moving around a three dimensional net.

A net bridge leading to a slide adds another enjoyable play activity to the Genesis play equipment.
