Sydney FEC plans $2 million aerial climbing park

Plans have been revealed for Australia’s first aerial climbing park as an addition to the Go Bananas family entertainment centre (FEC) in Western Sydney.

The $2 million attraction will give guests the chance to complete an adventure course, while connected to safety harnesses, across a series of three-storey towers.

If plans are approved, visitors to the attraction will get the chance to participate in activities ranging from free falling to tightrope walking as they bid to complete the solid steel course.

The concept has developed by Go Bananas, along with the TouchCloud Global (TCg) consultancy, to create dramatic, fun, challenging and is designed to be universal in its appeal and accessibility.

It also aims to help participants to overcome their fears and realign perceptions of what they can achieve while its design includes special modifications to ensure that the course can be completed by disabled guests.

The climbing park, which was originally conceptualised four years ago, is expected to be operational by Easter 2015.

When complete the Go Bananas development will make Western Sydney something of an adventure hub with local attractions including jet pack flying, Cables Wake Park, the recently opened iFly Downunder indoor skydiving attraction, Penrith Whitewater Stadium and TreeTop Adventure Park Sydney.

With offices in Singapore and Sydney, TCg is a highly specialised international consultancy, broker and principal, devoted solely to activating and energising skyscapes for the purpose of sustainable art, living, recreation and tourism.

The business is also currently developing the SkyMate high aerial ropes activity structure at Adelaide Shores in South Australia.
