Casa Leisure to manage the Christmas Island Recreation Centre

Casa Leisure has announced that it will operate the Christmas Island Recreation Centre, under contract with the Commonwealth from 1st January 2015.

Christmas Island Recreation Centre is located at Phosphate Hill, Christmas Island and was constructed by the Federal Government in 2004. The Centre includes a 25 metre swimming pool, recreation hall, gymnasium, crèche, cafe and ancillary rooms.

A community engagement strategy will be implemented to expand the programs and services delivered for the Christmas Island community.

Looking forward to the new contract, Casa Leisure Manager Rob Heinjus explained “we are excited about securing the management of the Christmas Island Recreation Centre and look forward to delivering local health, education and social outcomes, and increasing patronage of a valuable community asset.”
