Scenic World activities encourage families to reconnect

The Sculpture at Scenic World exhibition, being held from 7th April to 7th May, aims to provide a platform for families to put down their electronic devices and reconnect with each other these Easter school holidays.

Now in its sixth year, Sculpture at Scenic World 2017 showcases world class artworks in a natural Jurassic rainforest. Visitors can enjoy unlimited travel on the world’s steepest railway, marvel over an array of artworks set amid lush green rainforest, and make the most of a full public program including kids workshops and free guided tours.

Scenic World’s Marketing and Events Manager, Amanda Byrne, said the exhibition provided a unique opportunity for families to unplug from digital distractions and enjoy quality time together in a natural setting.

Byrne explained “Easter is a great time to reconnect with each other and create new memories as a family, away from the distractions of mobile phones and tablets.

“From world class sculptures, incredible landscapes, and a public program that takes in the best of the Blue Mountains, Sculpture at Scenic World has something for everyone which sets the stage for a memorable autumn arts escape for the whole family.”

Held over the Easter school holidays, Sculpture at Scenic World is free with entry to Scenic World and includes a public program including Sculpture Otherwise, an indoor exhibition at the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre, and Woodstock, an outdoor exhibition at iconic locations in the upper mountains.

Children can also take part in Sculpture for Small People workshops, and enjoy the kids arts trail which takes children on an interactive journey of the exhibition.
