SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre to host 2025 Australian Swimming Trials

Swimming Australia, in partnership with the South Australian Government, has announced the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre (SAALC) as the host venue for the 2025 Australian Swimming Trials being held from 9th-14th June 2025.

The Trials are the pinnacle event of this year’s domestic swimming calendar and will serve as a selection event for the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in July and the 2025 World Para Swimming Championships in September, with both events to be hosted in the Lion City.

Home to Dolphins and Olympic medallists Kyle Chalmers and Matt Temple, SAALC has cemented itself as a world-class venue and Swimming Australia is thrilled the trials will return to Adelaide with support from the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing and the South Australian Tourism Commission.

Marking the major national swimming meet of the year, Swimming Australia Chief Executive Rob Woodhouse said he would love to see sports fans fill the stands and support the athletes on the back of one of the most successful 12 months of the able-bod and para-Dolphin program.

Most recently, backstroke queen Kaylee McKeown, Paralympic medallist Ahmed Kelly, and teen Para-swimmer Declan Budd produced world record times at the 2024 National Short Course Championships in September.

And this June, returning Olympians and Paralympians will be joined by emerging club swimmers.

Woodhouse advised “trials are a highlight of the swimming calendar. With Dolphins selection on the line, we are sure to see high quality racing and an electric atmosphere as heroes from the 2024 Paris Games go head-to-head with an emerging generation of stars on the path to Singapore and beyond to the 2028 LA Games.

“The SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre has been a fantastic stage for past Trials and I know that will be the case again in 2025. With team selection on the line, and as we enter a new four-year Olympic and Paralympic cycle, we can expect fast high-quality racing from across the field, plus a few new names to emerge amongst our Paris stars.”

“My thanks to the South Australian Government for their support and we look forward to welcoming athletes and fans from around Australia to Adelaide in June.”

South Australian Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing Katrine Hildyard added “the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre is one of Australia’s best competition pools and we are proud to be hosting this magnificent event.  We know that it will be very well supported by our South Australian community.”

“In addition to hosting the 2025 Trials, we are investing record amounts into swimming pools and community recreation facilities in South Australia, ensuring that more people have more access to world class facilities that support lifelong health and physical activity.”

Tickets for the 2025 Australian Swimming Trials will be available via Ticketek, with all the action to be available live and free on the Nine Network.
