Rockhampton Council reopens redeveloped Mount Morgan pool
Rockhampton Regional Council has reopened its Mount Morgan Aquatic Centre following the completion of a $6.5 million upgrade.
With the facility’s old pool having reached the end of its life last year, the now fully accessible complex comes complete with a new 25 metre, eight lane pool, kiosk, new amenities building and a wet play area for children.
The Council advises that “the opening of the new Mount Morgan pool marks a significant milestone in enhancing recreation activities in the community, giving local families, and importantly, school children both a place for enjoyment and competition.”
Operated by Splash-A-Bout Swim School a community open day is planned for Saturday 13th April with further information to be provided in coming weeks.
The Mount Morgan pool was jointly funded by Rockhampton Regional Council and the Queensland Government’s Resources Community Infrastructure Fund.
